About the customer
Trisense is a Norwegian technology company that develops wireless, EX‑certified IoT sensors for the process industry. The company delivers solutions that monitor critical conditions such as temperature, relative humidity, and water ingress—particularly with a focus on predicting and preventing corrosion under insulation (CUI). The sensors communicate wirelessly via 4G/5G and are designed for long service life, easy installation, and use in hazardous (explosive) areas.
Fosstech’s contribution
Fosstech has been closely involved in the development and production of Trisense’s EX‑approved sensor units, with a strong focus on encapsulation, quality control, and process stability. We have developed and optimized casting processes, including new molds, improved material selections, and procedures for handling, curing, and inspection of sensors.
The work has included both prototype production and ongoing serial manufacturing, where Fosstech has supported the process with X‑ray analysis, weight studies, and detailed component inspections to verify internal structures, air pockets, and material behavior. In addition, we have collaborated closely with Trisense on EX requirements, documentation, incoming inspection, certificates of conformity (CoC) routines, and preparations for DNV audits—helping to ensure that the sensors are certifiable and production‑ready.
This long‑term collaboration has resulted in more stable processes, increased capacity, and reliable sensor units suitable for use in extreme environments.
