Fosstech’s contribution
For more than ten years, Fosstech has been a key production and development partner for Kongsberg Discovery. One of the main projects is the EM122 sonar, for which Fosstech manufactures and tests the transducers used in Kongsberg’s advanced deep‑water mapping systems. The production is a continuous serial delivery with extremely high requirements for robustness and accuracy, and any improvements or process adjustments are discussed on an ongoing basis between the parties.

Each transducer undergoes thorough tank testing prior to final encapsulation and assembly, and the process concludes with an extensive quality inspection before delivery to the customer.
